Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the BCDock platform ("Service"), operated by BCDock ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Sandbox Use Only

BCDock provides Business Central container environments strictly for development, testing, training, and evaluation purposes. You must not use BCDock environments for production workloads, live business operations, or any purpose that requires a production Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central licence.

The free trial provides one sandbox subject to two runtime caps: 7 hours of active (running) time and 100 hours of stored (hibernated) time. The trial also expires 14 days after account creation. Paid tiers do not have these caps; they are billed per-second per the pricing page.

2. Permitted Uses

  • AL extension development and testing
  • Training courses and workshops
  • Demos and proof-of-concept evaluations
  • CI/CD pipeline testing (automated test runs)
  • Upgrade testing before production deployment
  • Partner and ISV certification testing

3. Prohibited Uses

  • Running live production Business Central data or operations
  • Storing personally identifiable information of end customers
  • Any use that violates Microsoft's Business Central licensing terms
  • Reselling or sublicensing access to BCDock environments to third parties
  • Attempting to compromise the security or stability of the platform or other customers' environments
  • Cryptocurrency mining or any workload unrelated to Business Central testing

4. Microsoft Licensing

BCDock provisions Business Central using Microsoft's publicly available Docker images and artefacts under developer and sandbox licence terms. You are responsible for ensuring your use of Business Central within BCDock environments complies with Microsoft's current licensing requirements. BCDock does not provide Microsoft licences and is not affiliated with Microsoft Corporation.

Production use of Business Central requires a separate Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central subscription. BCDock environments cannot substitute for this.

5. Accounts and Access

You must provide a valid email address to create an account. You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@bcdock.io if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the platform, or engage in conduct harmful to other users or the service.

6. Service Limitations

  • No version upgrades: upgrading BC requires creating a new environment.
  • No data persistence guarantee: environments may be deleted after their runtime expires. Back up any data you need.
  • No SLA: the beta service is provided on a best-effort basis without uptime guarantees.
  • No Power Platform integration: BCDock environments have limited Power Platform support compared to BC SaaS.

7. Billing

Paid environments are billed by the second at the rates published on our pricing page. Each environment is billed in one of two states: active (running, with an HTTPS endpoint and a reserved pool slot) at the tier's active rate, or stored (hibernated; state preserved as an encrypted blob, no pool slot) at a flat A$9/month equivalent across all monthly tiers. Active billing starts when an environment reaches running status and stops on hibernate, suspension, or deletion. Stored billing runs for as long as the hibernated state is retained. Provisioning, deletion, and error states are not billed.

Founder Program participants (first 20 customers) receive 50% off any monthly tier for the first 6 months and 15% off for the following 3 years, in exchange for participation in two short feedback interviews and agreement to be a public reference. Annual commitments receive 17% off the active rate; the stored rate is flat across commitment types. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any standard price change takes effect.

Free-trial environments (one sandbox, with 7 hours of active runtime, 100 hours of stored time, and a 14-day expiry from account creation) are provided at no charge. No credit card is required for the free trial.

8. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, BCDock is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including loss of data or business interruption.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
